5th Grade

WEAVING

Using cardboard students painted their loom and
overlapped their weaves in order to make this great project!

HARING
5th grader's study Keith Haring.
Together we discussed the difference between graffiti art and vandalism.
Finally students made their own characters like Haring.

THE SCREAM!

Kids had a great time making The Scream.  First we did a little photography and took our pictures screaming.  Then students had to finish drawing their body and drawing the background, middle, and foreground.  We then traded off painting warm and cool colors in the different parts of the painting.
Here is my wonderful example!

O'KEEFE
After looking at the wonderful Georgia O'Keefe students made their own giant flowers upon black paper.  It was difficult convincing the kids to work so big and so one of my rules was that it had to go off of the paper.
